Red Maradol (WS-0322)

Productive red-fleshed papaya with strong outer shell which allows for longer transport and storage. Large fruits reach maturity at about the 9-month mark, however in some climates fruit can set as soon as the 7 month mark. The plants maintain a good height for fruit sets at about 2-3 feet above the ground, some fruit even sets at about 1 foot off the ground. Individuals in this variety are observed to have thick canopies which are very protective of fruit quality and help optimize production. Fruit produced from this strain are of export quality. Sweet aromas and a vivid red interior color with yellow/orange outer color is the standard for this superior strain.
